In order to implement XBRL a permanent working group on the development and implementation of the Bank of Russia electronic format data reporting based on XBRL specifications has been created. The Working Group is a standing official body providing regular interaction of key stakeholders within the framework of the Bank of Russia project on transition of NFI to XBRL and expertise relevant materials projects.
Currently, the main activities of the Working Group are the organizational, methodological and technological directions.
The organizational direction includes the subgroup on the development of inter-agency electronic interaction and the development of XBRL Russian jurisdiction.
The methodological and technological direction include a subgroup responsible for the convergence of supervisory and statistical reporting from IFRS, development and implementation of XBRL taxonomy of the Bank of Russia for reporting the NFI, the development of IT systems to work with the reporting data in XBRL, the development of the legal framework to work with XBRL and the development of audit reports in connection with the implementation of XBRL.

Sad news this week as we heard that Prof. Hans Rosling passed on, a year after making public his battle with pancreatic cancer. Still, as the team at his foundation, GapMinder.org point out, he might not be with us in person, but his legacy, words and actions remain. Rosling’s focus was bringing facts to decision makers in digestible form.
